A new brand of budget hotels from the Accor group will make its debut in Spain. It is Greet Hotels, which will run a first establishment in Alicante, it will be operated by one of the main franchisees of this group in Spain, Investissement Projet Inmobilier Hôtelier – IPIH, headed by businessman Laurent Gauze. The future ‘Greet Alicante Centro’, promoted by the subsidiary of the Gauze Group, DG Invest Hospitality, will begin construction at the end of this year, with a planned opening in 2024. As IPIH explains, “the Alicante hotel will have 65 rooms and will be the first in Spain. Greet is an affordable brand that is aligned with the comfort and eco-responsible and friendly trends, which Accor is betting on. In fact, according to Accor, the pillars of the brand are based on “circular hospitality, with a focus on reducing energy, water, etc., consumption and reusing resources.” It is aimed at “hotels with local roots, refocused on what really matters.” In this way, “includes spaces to share, designed to be able to enjoy pleasant moments. We want the best for our customers and for our local communities, so we offer fresh, simple and Km 0”. Greet’s catalog includes a dozen hotels in Germany, France and the Benelux countries, with an accommodation offer of 811 rooms, although it has another 24 properties under development, including the future hotel in Alicante, which will add 2,123 rooms. In addition, it still has 60 future facilities under negotiation.
IPIH will also open an Ibis Budget in Valencia
As for IPIH, it also plans another hotel in Levante, more precisely in the city of Valencia. Located in the neighborhood of El Cabanyal, its construction began “last December and a construction period of 17 months, with an opening scheduled for April-May 2023. It will be called ‘Ibis Budget Valencia Puerto’ and will have 68 rooms. In this city, the company maintains its interest in finding “a prime location for an Ibis or Ibis Styles”.
IPIH activity in 2021 reached 10.5 M€ for the Peninsula :
Spain 8.6 M€ and Portugal 1.9 M€.
